I never thought The Walking Dead could be any better than No Sanctuary. But The Walking Dead proved me wrong.
I have seen No Sanctuary a hundred of times now. Bury me here was shown to me on Mondays and I can’t find enough of this episode just like I couldn’t get enough about No Sanctuary. Now I’m trying to understand why it works.
Both episodes have a long good up building. While No sanctuary was all about horror, actually close to getting killed by one of the most terrified people, Bury me here was about fighting yourself free from extreme thinking.
Morgan finds himself more balanced because of what took place to Benjamin, who was like a son for him, and reminding him of his own son.
Richard has been in some way, just like Morgan himself. He waited way too long. One of the things Morgan regrets most in his lifespan. Because that costed him his son Duanes life.
Back on those days, Morgan didn’t want to follow Rick when he was looking after his family- Lori and Carl.
Morgan did what Carol now does. Just take a step back. Just wanting to be left alone.
When Morgan asked Carol ”did you find what you was looking for?” At the same time – he asked that question to himself.
The truth is he was always after Duanes dead is looking after Rick again. People need other people to come through.
It was altogether the time Morgan was left alone that made him crazy and all this clear things.
Carol has been never crazy in that way. But Rick punished her after she killed Karen and that other guy to be alone trying to realize it on her own.
That’s because Rick knew she could get it. But people need other people. No matter what happens next.
Morgan comes across his friend with the goat- a Dr that treated him. When Benjamin died, Morgan did go backwards again. Morgan is more balanced today. Not just dark or light. He is both.
When Morgan finds this way out he helped Carol too. Carol punished herself this time. Rick didn’t send her off, she sent herself away to the loneliness.
Morgan being in Carol’s life under this time helped her work thru it.
Maybe Carol wanted to go. Just like Morgan. But they go ahead. It’s like the life big question.
Morgan and Carol need each other and they become stronger together.
I just don’t know why. I’m still trying to find the answers.
I do know that I love this show.
The stuff I like is that horror can be outside you like Gareth. Or inside you like in Morgan and Carol.
In both ways, you have to struggle. Fight for yourself if no one cares about you.
Morgan fight inside himself. After that he went to Carol and talked about that fight that Glenn and Abraham lost.
Rickard said ”you could as well kill yourself.” If you don’t fight you could kill yourself actually.
That is a reminder that people that goes thru a lot misery and chaos, etc. is a good fighter. They were very strong.
Possibly they don’t always show that. Apparently they don’t need to. They know that they can do stuff.
Whatever they want, to anyone. They are not afraid, not even for Negan.
Negan seems complete difficult to beat. But every human has their weakness. And Morgan and Carol show that there is much force in that. Just like that there can be weakness in being strong.
Carol doesn’t protect people by breaking away. People need her. Exactly like she needs them. And life. Life need her and she needs a life. Not run away like a sick dog hiding before dying.
